Saratoga 6th--Wesley Ward should saddle the winner of this 5-1/2 furlong sprint on the lawn. Mission Mike Clark(4) must have suffered an injury making his debut in a maiden special weight race last Novemebdr at Calder. He finished a troubled second to a promising runner named Hillen's Choice who has gone of to perform well at the next level. If Ward has this sophomore gelding half-right he should beat this lineup. In his debut he swered in to slam a foe. He then came back out and bumped another rival. Mission Mike Clark was gathered, before racing up fifth only to sweve and check entering the turn. He was good enough to get home a clear cut second and went to the sidelines. Mission Mike Clark(4) is my play.
Del Mar 4th--Party Ruler(8) figures to improve a bunch off his troubled debut. He veered out at the start to bump a foe, came in, then ate flying clods making his way down the backstraight. Party Ruler checked into the turn while green to be tenth to the top. In the lane Party Ruler was inside and when tapped three times he made notable progress. He's drawn outside and figures to have a major say in this heat. Corey Nakatani was aboard him for a sharp blowout on August 8 so look for a good effort from Party Ruler(8) who will open at 6-1 and should be around 9-2 or 4-1 at post time.
