Race 5
mc $50k 3 & up 7 furlongs
Key scratches on a wet poly surface
#11 BRIDGING, 7/2
Calif 5 yo has plenty of experience on synthetic surfaces. Owner/breeder sends this lightly raced gelding to new trainer in Kentucky and gate work on 4-21-2011 signals readiness.
#3 JALEB, 10-1
Another owner/trainer combo. Cuts back from 1 1/8 in last on Kee poly where he showed courage before tiring late.
#9 STANDUP COMIC, 5-1
Assman trained been working ok for return, but you have to wonder why he didn't start at FG or OP in the last two months?
Exacta Box 3-9-11
Race 6
2yo mdn $50k 4 1/2 furlongs
Baby race where the Wes Ward fav is a sct, but he has another in here who just does not have W. Ward type of works. Throw out.
#1 SMOKE IT RIGHT, 5-1
3 gate works and a muddy CD work have this one ready for Plet/Johnny V. He was on the outside in Aiken Trial and turned right out of the gate. A repeat of that today and he takes out the whole field. He may need a race or two or he may fire out of the gate and get a good trip along the rail. Have to hope Johnny V. can get him over his gate issues.
#5 MY SAMURAI, 15-1
Showed guts two weeks ago and should improve in 2nd start for unknown connections. Good value.
#7 EVENT CENTER, 12-1
Been throwing down great works in preparation for first start for a trainer who is not known for 1st time starters.
#11 CURFEW TOWER, 4-1
The one to beat, hands down, but outside post hurts his chances. However, he may be fast enough to clear this field from the outside and never look back.
Four horse trifecta box
1-5-7-10
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
