#8 Hennessy Rose (3/1 ml)

Taking a leap of faith here; clearly this filly has underperformed so far. What interests me today however is that Hennessy Rose has been training exceptionally well on cushion track (the Hollywood version) since Day One. For some reason, her connections opted to run her on grass the first couple of times, where she preformed pretty well, but not up to her morning standards. I backed her last time as well, thinking perhaps the switch to polytrack would do the trick. It's rather obvious she didn't like the polytrack. Today, she FINALLY makes a start on cushion track, which is what i've been waiting for, but of course we're talking Santa Anita now. I'm guessing she'll take to it, but who knows. She's also taking the big drop into a maiden 32, and gets a shorter distance that should be to her liking. The only other thing i could ask is that the race were @ Hollywood, but whatcha gonna do. Should be a decent price here due to her flame-job last time, and many of her supporters are probably gun-shy by now. I like her chances today, and she should offer some value.

HRT record:

33 for 117 (28%)

$303.10 mutuels ($9.18 avg)
