Tried to get in yesterday and the Pool was already filled-up and closed. I would have thought 48 hours was plenty of advance notice, guess not when the pay-off could be 2 million or so.

If anyone out there got in, I would appreciate them posting the pool picks when available.

The Pool for Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Belmont was capped at $100,000.00, and it went quickly. The carryover is about 1.2 mil and the total on Wednesday will surely be well over 2 mil!

For those playing on Wednesday, and who isn't, be advised that the pick 6 sequence contains several of those tricky $25k and $35k mdn clm races which are a bear to figure. Throw in some starter alw races and it is one hell of a tough sequence!
Good luck, you're going to need it!

Trying to find a single may be a tough task! Though I see a couple of options. Tough sequence indeed!

Looks like the good folks at Twin Spires turned $100,000 into $1,526.

I am not sure I understand why this is such a great bet....on average every person who attended the races live at Belmont today, bet 410 dollars...if every person in the twinspires deal bet 400, then there would be 250 people that would get a return of about 1200 -400 gives them a profit of 800...thus a 2-1 shot

Let's be more realistic....if everyone at twinspires put up 50 dollars there would 2000 people and a return of about 150-50 gives a profit 100 dollarsagain a 2-1 shot....

You can take any number of players who bet into 100,000 and you are getting a 2-1 shot

That does not include taxes on the winnings, and more impotantly on one has a say on what is being bet...to me this just seems like someone wanting some action...and saying there apart of a pick 6....in today's Bel pk 6 there where 2 favorites, 3, 7-2 shots and one 25-1 shot...with a 100 grand I would think if 5-6 on this board got together there would be a reward...there were probably 11 who had winning tickets of the $ 2 variety.....

If anyone has an opposing opinion why this is so great a wager...I would be interested to hear...trying to pick 6 winners for a 2-1 payoff....only reason I can see is if there are a lot fewer winning tickets....or there is a sole winner...but believe me there a lot sharper handicappers in NY and other large tracks, than at twinspires.....

Actually I am coming from the other side on this one. My friends and I used to pool are money for the big carry overs around the country, sometimes we'd have $3,000 + to put together a ticket. It wasn't until I joined Twinspires as a player that I realized big syndicates existed. Why pool such a small amount of money when you realize there are several huge syndicates putting together 50,000/100,000 tickets. It makes no sense to try and beat the big fish. We all small players have little to any chance.
In the three+ years I have been involved with the players pool I am way ahead. The post Kentucky Derby pool made me 3X's my investment. And a few years back we hit one that made me 7X's my investment.
I think I have had 2 or 3 investments that went for a loss. So they'd have to go 0 for their next 5 or 6 for me to get back to even.

I think it is one of the best investments around. And it is fun keeps you involved, and you can figure which horses they really like if you study their cards and that is a big help if you are wagering on the races themselves.
