Mariners (+100) over Phillies

Michael Pineda and Felix Hernandez both pitching in this series (at home), while the Mariners are fortunate enough to miss both Halladay and Lee.

Seattle is a dog here? Really??? This line is based way more on reputation than reality...

Incidentally, the M's just called up their prized minor-league prospect Dustin Ackley, who will making his making his major league debut tonight (batting 7th). This kid has shown a great batting eye in the minors thus far, walking more times than he strikes out. That's a great stat for any hitter, but is especially encouraging with a young prospect like Ackley. Looking forward to seeing him play tonight.

I wouldn't really call it a "bad" number. They deserve to be favored, imo.

Btw, they're a -110 favorite tonight (Pineda vs. Oswalt), and currently a -145 favorite tomorrow (Hernandez vs. Worley).

Seattle takes the first game 4-2, behind yet another strong game from Pineda.

Philly wins the second game, 5-1. Felix pitched well, but got no run support (other than Ackley's first major league homer).

Congrats on the nice score! I didn't bet quite as much as you did, lol...

The Mariners win Game 3 (and the series) behind a complete-game shutout from Jason Vargas.

Btw, Ackley had a really strong series in his MLB debut, hitting a single up the middle in his very first at-bat on Friday night, then hitting his first home run on Saturday (that didn't take too long, lol). He then tripled and scored today. Looks like he's already making an impact...
