Race 6
2yo fillies mdn $50k 5 1/2 f turf
What's wrong with this morning line when you have 3 in here who have racing experience and they are 4-1, 5-1, and 10-1 ? The most likely answer is that Eric Donovan is not as dumb as he looks and that he has gotten the word on some firsters who have turned heads with speedy works. Apparently, Donovan has the word on the TAP owned, yes I said owned, Sweet Cat, 7/2, but the word I an getting from my buddy in Lexington is as follows:
#7 RUN A RISK, 5-1
Firster is a G. Watts Humphrey homie out of Distorted Humor. She is said to be a stunning chestnut and has been under the care of guru Ky trainer Rusty Arnold, who has tried to keep her under wraps on the track, but to no avail. Her works at Keeneland have caught the attention of all who caught them and word from track observers is that this is a big time 2yo fillie with a big time future ahead of her. Worked in company with older horses and and came flying past without being asked to pull away late and widen the margin to the point of looking almost ridiculous. Mr. Humphrey is a first-class horseman who doesn't dick around when sending a firster to the Spa, and the outside post only enhances her chances as Robbie Albarado will be able to swing her to the outside for a clear trip to the wire. Do not get shut out on this very live firster!

#3 CAT GIRL, 4-1
Dogwood fillie out of Discreet Cat ran a very solid 3rd in her debut, and expected improvement 2nd start makes her a real threat. She tried real hard in her first race and never quit but she may not be fast enough against these?
#6 VOLCAT, 5-1
Has 2 starts, and in last she really woke-up despite being bumped hard at the start.
#4 SWEET CAT, 7/2
$95k Keeneland Sept purchase is bred to be fast and a pure turf runner. Owned and trained by TAP, which you do not see very often. Her last work signals her ability and I do not think TAP will be embarresed by her effort.
# ?, DELIGHTFUL SONG, 10-1
She gets lasix first time after a decent effort at Woodbine. A real sleeper in here for Kenny McPeek, but her low sales price raises questions as to conformity and quality?
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
