Sounds like anyone with overseas accounts are now screwed if you have any money in them. Anyone also hear about the online poker being described as a ponzi sceme?

If you can't afford to lose it - don't fuck with it.

That said, I've never even left 10k in my US based Twinspires account overnight. You just never know...

    Me too!

I left a good chunk in my Twin Spires acct for about two days and got a telephon call from CDI wanting to make sure I hadn't croaked! They told me absolutely nobody leaves that kind of Jack in their acct. I told them I trusted them and they said it didn't matter, draw it down. Seems that the CDI bank in Ohio also has something to do with this policy but I'm not sure why. Nor am I sure as to why the hell I pay income tax every year to Ohio?

Twinspires is legal and only offers accounts to customers in states where horse racing is legal. As far as I know, twinspires only has horce racing, not poker, casino, or sports gambling. So if theyre playing by the rules, why would they be at risk? Right??

I certainly didn't mean to imply that Twin Spires/CDI is anything other than above board. I have been with this company since the old BrisBet days and have never had a problem. The main reason I kept a large sum in my acct was I was trying to hide it from family . I think when they pay a IRS ticket the winnings go into the acct, less the fed take-out, and then the State of Ohio considers you a resident of Ohio for income tax purposes, which I still think is bullshit since I have never set foot in Ohio. ( Even when flying to Lexington/Louisville via Cinncinnati, the airport is in Kentucky!!!

Yeah, sorry if that came out wrong. I honestly meant "you just never know."
Twinspires is great, has a great cash rebate program, the race replay system is invaluable and so easy to use, and above and beyond all that - Evan in the VIP Player department has spoiled me with tickets, trips, and even a call every once in a while just to say hello or congratulate me on a big score.
