Del Mar Derby (G2) winner BANNED (Kitten's Joy), who traveled four furlongs on Santa Anita's firm turf in :52 on Thursday, suffered a severe injury while pulling up from the easy work. Makes me sick. Jenine Sahadi apparently retired from training after 12 of her 14 horses were put down or permanently injured @ Del Mar. Several trainers got it really bad down there. Others were fine, however, and it may just be a TERRIBLE coincidence.
