    He had no shot in the BC. (Assuming some EUROS made the trip). Dean's Kitten would've run right by with a jock that could finish. Connections also knew this so they took the money and ran.

    I feel stupid responding to this, but Ramon Dominguez was riding Dean's Kitten. Also, it's very possible Cape Blanco suffered the injury in the stretch and still gutted it out.


    And the connections do not give two fucks about money.

    But, other than that, you're right.

    I feel even more stupid responding to this, but didn't Cape Blanco already beat most of the Euros who might make the trip? Something like 10 wins from 15 starts and over 3.8 million in earnings? Grade I events at Belmont Park aren't exactly chopped liver, and last time I heard Sir Michael Tabor was worth more than the Queen! But, other than that, you are probably on to something.
