Quirky card today at Aqueduct, but nothing quirky about the feature 8th, Discovery Hdc. G III

The ml fav, Redeemed, 7/5, for Dutrow, made a big move late in the Okie Derby to just get up in time. Yet, he only beat Social Saul by one length, and you get 8-1 today on Social Saul! There seems to be enough false early speed in here so Saul will not set the early fractions and get a stalking trip with enough left to be a major player at a price. Gary Contessa still thinks he is a big time 3yo with a big future still ahead of him. Moreover, and no offense to Finger Jock John Grabowski, but you would have to say that the change to Ramon is a positive change! It's not too often you see a Smoke Glacken colt get a distance of ground, but Social Saul seems to be defiying his bloodlines. Raison d"Etat is in here at 3-1 and is one we've been waiting for to return with a class relief race. As DC noted in another post, his recent works are very good for a Mott trained. Last but not least, Dirty's bug boy Irad is on the #1 Eltheeb for Shadwell/Kieran and he may be running good enough late to get a minor reward at 20-1. I am going to play some numbers in the exotics with 5 & 6 on top with 1 & 4 underneath. GOOD LUCK!
