WO R3:

#7, Rock's Sweet Thing: troubled start, green run on the backside, then closed a TON in a race that fell apart late. Adding a furlong today and I don't usually like these. But the fact that she was very green early and is adding blinkers today means she should run an improved effort -- though she'll probably be much closer to the pace (maybe she even sets it).

#12, Comtesse Crimson: coming out of the same race. Wins if the 7 doesn't.

Screw the 1sters

#3, Bull Got Shot: many chances; some good efforts; but no wins. Maybe today

    #1, Hawk's a Blur: 2nd time starter -- the main comp

#8, King Tucker: the other one

Contreras doing his best Daniel Centeno impersonation. I mean, the horse has shown it doesn't like to win; at least give it a chance with a better ride.

When Contreras isn't running his horse to death on the front end, which is the majority of his rides lately, he's putting forth some intelligent efforts. Like the one on the chalk 5 in the 5th, where he saved all the ground and tried to run down the, premature moving, 2 in the stretch. But Stein basically told him to go fuck himself and got that 20:1 shot home for me.

WO R5: 9 or 13 supposed to win this one.

5 is the chalk and there's a lot of speed in here but I don't think he gets it done -- definitely doesn't win it, at least

my longshot is the 7, another kitten

had the exacta and tri (missed the super) but
the 10 just missed 2nd @ 35:1, for what would've been signficantly better returns (exacta under the 12 was paying $175).

    WO R7:

going to try to beat the favorite, #8, Opening Meet. Doubtful this one gets that multi-layered setup it got last time. Especially given the cutback in distance today.

Coming out of the same race is #10, Okiyama, who moved BEFORE the 8 and ran 41 feet more. Bet to win if > 10:1.

My bomb here is #4, Trajectory's Dream. This one doesn't need the lead and I'm hoping the jock stalks, rather than duels or sets the pace, and pounces going into the turn. Win @ > 40:1.

    WO R8:

tough race: appears to be between #6, Embur's Song and #9, Atlantic Hurricane. These two figure to hook up (any other speed in the race is not of the caliber of these two) and try to take them around the track. Depending on how hard their jocks go at it, race could set up for the 3, ARiana D --- can't win without a perfect trip and #7, Happy Week -- figures to sit a nice stalking trip.

Ended up using the 9 on top but couldn't get the 6 or 7 in the 2nd slot. Once again proving that Pletcher is pretty much USELESS when he can't use his JUICE.
