One of the old school trainers, Robert Holthus died last night. Most of his ran on the Kentucky/Arkansas circuit. He had cut back alot the last few years due to bad health. Yet, still maintained training centers in Hot Springs and Louisville.

A giant of a man(literally) and a true gentleman. He will be missed!

A big loss for the sport and as you stated a true gentelman and fine person. They don't make many like him these days, that's why we are in the position today.

I'm very sorry to hear that. I remember going to the Detroit tracks DRC & Hazel Park back in 1969 & 70 & Bob Holthus was one of the top trainers there also.

Sorry to hear about this. Pretty recognizable name in the sport; i know he'd been around for a real long time.

His big horse was Lawyer Ron, i guess?
