Slot money gone!

Andrew's Nazi regulators say it was in the best interests of NY horse racing and racing fans.
REALLY?

I posted last week that it was my sense King Andrew's mission would be to find some reason to terminate NYRA's franchise and then grab all the cash from that casino . I am quite sure that Cuomo wants to appoint one of his own hacks to run NYRA. Then he can control the cash & where it goes .When the NYRA board appointed a new COO & chief counsel under his nose without his blessing. He threw a tantrum . That being said IMO Phipps & all his other buddies from the Jockey Club have done very little for racing in NY . A bunch of blue bloods a-holes that have done more to hurt racing in NY than aid it. I wouldn't mind seeing them get kicked in the nuts

I am told that this latest salvo will not reduce the purse or breeding funds, but you know what happens once there is a small hole in the dam!

All this negative news started with the NY Times expose, and has spread like wildfire. Most of the statements made in this latest letter are clearly false, but at this point, no one cares to dispute any of these false findings of fact.

I'm in total agreement with you on the usefulness of the Jockey Club. They are silent on these issues when they should be the industry leader, but they are all looking out for their own interests, which most are in already hostil climates in Maryland and Kentucky.

    Sad state of affairs!

I love this game ! I live in Saratoga . It is a town that lives & breathes horse racing . If these politicos handle this like everything else they do ...I fear tumbleweed will be rolling down Union Ave in the years to come

A portion of the casino money was supposed to go into racing and it went into pockets instead. Makes a NY govonor not fond of racing to begin with even less fond.

Dubya heading to SPA for the weekend with the wife in August. Let me know some hot spots to go: Drinks, Food, ETC. Went last year for the weekend and stayed at The Gideon and went to the Crue concert.

Not a problem . My wife & I live downtown so we frequent a number of places regularly .
Good Restuarant: Sperrys ,Jacob & Anthonys ,Chianti's,Lemoncellos, Hatties
Good Food & Bar : 7 Horse Pub( big track atmosphere) ,Russo's, Jacob & Anthonys, Max London's
Good Bars; Dangos great sports bar, outrageous TV's ,hot barmaids ,good bar food, Sperrys patio bar
Entertainment: Racino has a night club (35 & Up) crowd . Plus simulcasting upstairs if you want to play DelMar
Gideon is an ok hotel . However there is a Hampton Inn downtown that is sweet & in the middle of the action . Walking distance to everything including the track
