Rather ho-hum ordinary card today at the Spa.

Tonight at Remington, two stakes races with some good ones.

7th David M. Vance Stakes $100k 3 & up 6f
#1 Apprenhender, 9/2
3yo draws the rail and will try to get out and and lead every step of the way. Trained by Husker's buddy Chris Richard and this one is just fast. He ran against some good ones last spring at OP then tried Arlington poly which did not work. Got back on dirt and clicked off 21 and 45 on his way to winners circle. Assman has Joe Hollywood in here who will get played like crazy and keep the odds fair. #5 Alsvid, 5-1, is terribly underrated and is a major player in here too. #1 wp and ex bx 1-5.

8th--Governor's Cup, $200k 1 1/8
#5 Alternation, 6/5, is one who I told you was a tired horse last out in the Foster, and sure enough he ran a distant 5th. He may not be the horse he was a few months ago, but he won't have to be 100% to beat this group.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

You should have put today's card at SPA is terrible. A bunch of 20 thousand claiming races in a Saturday?

Going to take a shot with some longshots in the 9th at Spa. Finally got a call back from one of my partners who also owns #9 Sky Music, 20-1. Former stakes winner has had a slew of problems and went thru a list of trainers. Now with Contessa, who had him gelded a couple of months ago and thinks he will be a different horse today? Cuts way back in distance and will be urged to go early. Live longshot in a clm $20k anybody's guess race. The #2 Snugalomputus has speed and good mud form, and the #8 Bomber Boy is a logical choice. The likely fav is a TAP/Repole who is in for the tag, not a sign of confidence notwithstanding the drop? #9 wps and ex bx 2-8-9.
