Dale Romans just announced on TV that Shackleford will be scratched from the race today. Given what appears to be declining form it is not a surprise.

    Connections talked about a cough---but that last work going 4f in 50.4 had to be of concern since he had been working that distance in two full seconds quicker. Something more than just a cough, I'm afraid?
