Read something yesteday about 1,000 pounds of sand being added to the track, and the surface acting deep/slow as a result. Sounds like speed might not play as well as we've been accustomed to, but we'll see...

Oh, you don't say. Wife of speed horse trainer screams vulgarities at CEO of Santa Anita (who already has enough of an ego to RENAME every "Santa Anita Fall Meet" race) - CEO proceeds to dump quicksand on track. Business as usual.

I call bullshit on myself. The track must have been insanely speed biased prior to the sand, because even with it you had to be on or near the lead today.

I had a huge day today, but the kind you regret, because you were betting small trying to get a feel for the fucking track and every horse you bet won. Hey, I was already signing by the 3rd race, so I guess I should shut the f up.

    Good luck tomorrow.

    SHH, you get paid?

You snuck by, although this one should have made lead, IMO. Bad ride.

    I was on TooManyLucky's in the 3rd.

You have picked the following horse for Thu, October 4th:

    Race 2: #01 - Ondine

I went Baffert. You've got the better pick, but we might as well spread a little over here at HRT.

That's the exact definition of the word crush. We're both good.

I've been knocked out of ShowVivor (and Show Me The Money) at least 3 or 4 times over the years by forgetting to enter a pick. Don't feel too bad about it.

Going with Mandella's Brazilian import today. Hope she runs like Sandpit... :eating:

You keep beating me to all the good picks DC. This filly really doesn't have much to beat either, plus the SA track favors her style so much more.

I'll jump one race ahead of you with Awe' Some Kitten

    I'm out.

But, the way bigger news today is that I got beat a nose for the entire early early pick-5 pool. All 85k of it. Sickening.

It's all good now. I took a deep breath and looked at the facts, I was alive for .50 payoffs of 9k, 10k, and 16k. The 16k payout horse (with the stupid fucking china-man up) horse was much the best, running in the 3 path to lose just a short nose. Tough beat, but not the new house I thought i lost.
