Not sure if you were watching Keenelands first race but Thermal Cat was making a move during the stretch run and he took a bad step. Unfortunately this gallant 3-YO had to be euthanized.
Jockey Joe Rocco Jr. was taken off on a stretcher with some neck pain.
The site of that tarp coming out on a racetrack just makes me sick. My condolences to trainer Wayne Catalano and the Coffeepot Stables.
