Where is this Horse??

The most expensive yearling sold at auction last year is one of the most beautiful bay colts ever seen. Powerful is the son of A.P. Indy and Malka and was purchased for 1.4 million dollars for a reason. With a family that consists of names like A.P Indy, Seattle Slew, Weekend Surprise, Deputy Minister, Bold Reasoning and the great Secretariat, this horse should have what it takes to win Graded Stakes races. That is, if he ever gets a shot at the gate. Powerful is unraced. This 3/4 brother to Giralomo has no points, no past performances and no workouts posted. Nothing. Just a name with a big price.

No horse since Apollo in 1882 has won the Kentucky Derby without being raced as a two year old. However, things like this are meant to be broken. No thoroughbred had ever won the Kentucky Derby leaving gate #19 either. But 2012 gave us a great winner in #19 I'll Have Another. Perhaps 2013 will be a year when another pattern is broken. Does anyone out there have any information on the progress and/or whereabouts of Powerful??

Judging by the worktab, i'm guessing he's in the Drysdale barn. Probably close to a race, too...

Did you catch the company he was in?

    I hadn't looked, no.

Edit: Just took a gander. Three of his last four drills have come heads-up with a fellow unraced 2yo named Red Globe.

I have never been this anxious to see a maiden race in my life! I'm hoping that his times show improvement moving forward.

Very slow workouts are normal for the Drysdale barn. It doesn't mean a thing.
