Hollywood - Race 8

#6 Battled (3/1 ml)

Hard not to like this one. Bob Baffert colt brought $300,000 at the May Barrett's sale (over 20 times the sire's stud fee) after working a furlong in 10 seconds flat (one tick off the show's best), and has recently worked heads-up on two different occasions (Dec 2 and Nov 19) with Flashback, who came out of those drills to win impressively with a 93 Beyer last weekend. Should be tough to handle.

HRT record:

89 for 332 (27%)

$763.80 mutuels ($8.56 avg)

This is gonna come back as a tough race IMO. Nice run by Battled, who got up for second after fading to third at the top of the stretch. He also broke a step slow, but the price was certainly right.

The day on the whole was a giant let-down for Baffert, who just got beat up and down the track.
