So-Cal trainer Mike Pender had an interesting looking horse shipping to Turf Paradise, off two decent efforts behind the in form Big Wags for 8 and 10k. He was in a $3000 N4L, went off at even money and the chart tells the story....


LUCKY FITZ broke a bit slowly then was pulled up into the backstretch and vanned off.

Lucky Fitz was claimed by Miller Blair A; trainer, Miller Blair.


Hey, it was only three grand. LOL.

    You don't get what you pay for in California anymore. If you put in a claim, and the horse dies or goes lame on the track you are now protected for 48 hours.

    In the past you would purchase insurance (against death for sure).
