Was just looking over Verrazano's recent worktab, and i see that his bullet on Feb 25 came heads-up with Discreet Dancer, a 4yo barnmate who is now 3-for-4 lifetime after returning from a one-year layoff to take an allowance race in 1:09 1/5 about a month ago. In fact, his only loss was a 3rd-place finish in last year's Fountain of Youth, so definitely an encouraging drill for the current Derby favorite there. Looks in top shape heading into his stakes debut.
PS - Hard to believe the 9/1 Derby favorite still has yet to face stakes company, or race around two turns. Go figure.
