TAP Palm Sunday sweep @ Sunland

Asst. Whit Beckman is really high on both Majestic River in the Oaks and Abraham in the Derby. Both of these are late foals and are very lightly raced. Nevertheless, both are coming in to top form and are said to be quickly nearing the TAP top tier(they are considered 2nd tier now, but look at who's top tier), so these are ones to watch.
Race 10--Sunland Oaks
3yo fillies going 1 1/16 $200k purse
#3 MAJESTIC RIVER, 4-1
daughter of A.P. Indy was an April 21 foal so she is still very young. Broke her maiden first out at GP going 6 1/2then came back in an opt clm going 1 1/16 and caught a sloppy track at GP where she got nosed for the win by regally bred Juddmonte Emollient, and these two were miles ahead of the rest. This filie has real racehorse speed and will need it today if she is to handle #5 Midnight Lucky, 5/2. #1 Unusual Way, 7/2, comes in from Jeff Bonde barn and appears to be a logical show horse. #6 Countess Curlin, 5-1, is the Assman player, but you have to wonder why Steve has had her down in Texas? Toss for me or she would be stabled in NOLA or Hot Springs.
Majestic River may not be TAP top tier yet, but other that Midnight Lucky, these aren't world beaters.
Taking a stab with #3 win---ex bx 3/5---and tri 3/5--3/5--1/6.
Race 11 Sunland Derby
3yo 1 1/8 GIII $800 purse(and points)
#2 ABRAHAM, 4-1
by Sire of champions Distorted Humor and a El Prado mare, he also is a April 8 foal. Made his debut in Jan going 61/2 at GP and got edged by a mere nose in fast time.. Next out TAP stretches him out to 1 1/8 over a sloppy GP track and he tired from his early efforts and badly drifted out but still held on to get the win. Class all the way from this Winstar runner and he has been holding his own in the AM at PMM, not quite as fast as Bobby or Palace Malice, but not far behind. Whit Beckman says he is kicking down the stall and primed for a super effort. Will offer a fair price due to Baffert runner.
My play is a straight win wager only. Johnny V. came out last night to ride both, and Mike McCarthy will be on site to saddle both TAP runners(and winners?)
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
