Race 1- Bird Manor drops, turns back, and adds blinkers. Likely third choice here and two favorites are both very suspect. Keying with confidence.
Race 2- Quorum blew the start and then raced wide in first start for Chris Engleharts assistant.
Absolutely no other speed in this race and with an alert beginning, this one could be over at the bell. Solid.
Race 3- Like A Diva makes first start for Carlos Martin who usually does well this time of year. Both fast track sprints in Florida were excellent and she sports a nice worktab in first NY start. Must come from out of it but should have sufficient pace on which to set her sights.
Race 4- Bellardo turns back and drops after outside pace pressing try going two turns on the inner. This particular distance is habitually won by horses that do just what Bellardo has done in last two. And just for the record, stretchout closers don't win these races.
Race 5- Pocket Cowboys has certainly beaten better. Not all the crazy about him but with only 3 possiblilties here, I'm not tossing him.
Tawaared returns from long layoff but could win this on memory alone.
Rangey is the likely pace setter but can rate nicely if something unexpected guns.
Race 6- Red Hook is probably quickest and has license to shake loose and keep going in pretty weak group.
So Fashion goes for Steve Jerkens who had his lone runner at the meet thus far, do a total form reversal. Streaky barn may chalk up a long awaited trip to the winners circle.
Race 7- Dynamic Host is heads and tails the best turf horse in the field. Would single without hesitation with any other trainer.
Race 8- Fiddler's Afleet returns from Maryland after good try in the General George. Back to the level of the claim and expecting a huge effort from this one today.
Race 9- Retired raced against much better in both turf starts. Blinkers off today and will be flying late.
Trainedforsuccess also raced against better on turf and has fought the rider in several occasions. Big shot if able to relax.
