Question about Wise Dan

Just saw something about Wise Dan potentially passing on the Firecracker Handicap due to his connections being unhappy with the weight.

Something i was talking with a friend about not too long ago (when discussing Breeders Cup Classic futures), is there any way that Wise Dan could return to dirt this year and make a run at the Classic? Didn't he win the Whitney a couple of years years ago? I don't see why it wouldn't be an option; he's already won the BC Mile.

    He might go in the Whitney this year I was told.

    I just don't see it..I think they want to separate him from successful Dan...
