Very good horse here. Always been highly impressed with him, and he's proven himself extremely capable of running well off the layoff. He's also 2-for-3 at today's distance, with his only loss coming by 3 lengths in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile when he went off @ 20/1. In fact, that was largest losing margin of his entire career. The only other losses are two close seconds, and an even closer third. Obviously a stakes-caliber talent, who never runs in stakes (aside from the Shoemaker) because he's always getting hurt. Just no reason for him to be listed as the 3rd-choice in this optional claimer/classified allowance race, not when we know that he can run well off the bench. And not at this, his favorite distance. It's been well over a year since he's won a race, but any of his two-turn races (in his entire career) puts him right there at the wire (again). No reason to think otherwise. Good value on a good horse.

And yeah, i was momentarily worried when he got steered to the inside coming around the turn. Turned out to be the right move however. Pretty confident move by Blanc; he must've known he had a ton of horse.
