Gulfstream - Race 6
#11 Hanalei Hailey (4/1 ml)
Expensive 2yo purchase for Pletcher (particularly for a filly) tied for the fastest furlong (10.0) at the Fasig-Tipton sale last March, and more recently worked twice in a row with My Miss Sophia, who came out of those drills to run a very fast second (5 1/2 furlongs in 1:02 and change), while finishing clear of the rest of the field by 6 lengths. Also, most recently, she worked heads-up on Feb 10 with Love You Loads, who was last seen finishing just a half-length behind today's 3/1 ml favorite Whomping Willow (visible in that one's company line). Looks live here.
HRT record:
94 for 349 (27%)
$807.30 mutuels ($8.59 avg)

But if I'm not mistaking---the winner set a track record?
I was mistaken--Track record was in the Sabin Stakes
