Coupla interesting notes on tomorrow's turfy 2yo race @ the Spa

The Clement trainee Brother O'Connell (5/1 ml) just worked heads-up on grass with a 4yo European import who went 2-for-4 last year (with the two losses being a second and a third). Pretty good sign i think, and of course the Clements are always worth a look in these types of races.
The other really interesting note i have is not so much regarding this race, but rather a future one. When doing the research on the two Chad Brown entrants (one of whom is the 5/2 ml favorite here), it appears that BOTH of them were outworked (on different occasions) by an unraced filly named Fila Primera. So let's be on the lookout for that one, particularly if the Browns run well here.

Also, the two Chad Brown colts (both of whom were outworked by the unraced filly Fila Primera) ran first and second. News we can use, hopefully.
Edit: beat me to it.
Interesting also that she was a filly outworking colts, but i'mn not sure that matters as much with 2yo's.
Looks like Shug has a pretty nice record with Rosario in the irons, too. And yes, Rosario was on board for Orient Harbor's win (breaking from the #1 post, same as this one).
Also in that race DC the 4 lady zuzu for lukas/saez was last years sale topper at toga sale..
Quick update on this Fila Primera thing. The Chad Brown filly in Race 5 today (#8 Lady Daphne) comes in off a heads-up gate drill with Fila Primera.
Interesting not only because she worked h/u with FP (whereas FP had out-worked those other two colts), but also because this one is entered going 5 1/2 furlongs, while the two colts went long on grass. Might have something to do with today's filly being a state-bred. Whatever the case though, be sure and check the results here. FP may look even more attractive after this race is over.
The heavy 8/5 ml favorite (#4 Blofeld) doesn't look too appealing, considering that he worked heads-up on July 22 with Animalia, who came out of that drill to run well-beaten 6th (in that Brother O'Connell race listed above). Blofeld also appears to have been outworked on July 15 by Paris Bikini, an unraced barnmate owned by Bobby Flay. So we have some definite negativity on the big favorite here.
Meanwhile, the longer half of Pletcher's uncoupled entry (#5 Malibu Warrior, 5/1 ml) out-worked Royal Son from the gate back on July 17, and Royal Son came out of that drill to run a strong second here a couple of weeks ago. Also, another Pletcher first-time starter who had recently worked with Royal Son (Two Weeks Off) came out of that drill to run a nice second behind our winner Requite the other day.
So from the looks of it, the 5/1 shot looks stronger than the 8/5 shot.
A little light in the winners circle for a well meant horse....
You can say that again.
Co goes today 7th race Belmont 6 1/2 on the dirt.
Fila Primera runs third.
