Rich Tapestry

So in last Saturday's Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1), there was 5-to-2 favorite Rich Tapestry staggering home dead last; beaten almost 20 lengths and burning millions of dollars of bettor's money. He raced like a horse that bled, and this was on a day where the temperature was 66 degrees, and sure enough, it was disclosed in the South China Morning Post a few days later by his trainer Michael Chang that substantial blood and dirt was found in his trachea after being scoped by vets in a post-race examination.

So a horse was entered without a legal, therapeutic medication and he suffered a bad case of exercise induced pulmonary hemorrhaging, which could have been prevented or had its impact reduced. Depending on the severity, there could be permanent internal scarring and it will be interesting to see how he does the rest of his career, it he has any career left after this incident.

What are you going to do???

This horse had a history of bleeding---yet when the connections brought him to America to run in BC and get the benefit of Lasix, the Hong Kong powers that be made a ruling that if he ran on Lasix, he would be banned from returning to race in Hong Kong.

Nothing you can do to refute these anti-Lasix folks. As mis-guided as they are, they are convinced that the elimination of Lasix will return racing to its glory days.

    So wrong on every level!!!!

Check out posting on Paulick Report--these people are crazy In every sense of the word!

I also agree with you guys. These people need to let the past be the past. Horses dont run every weekend like they did in the past either.(unless your a jacobson runner)..Everytime they so the douche from team valor it just bothers me...

I was on Rich Tapestry, knew the risks, and moved on. Honestly, if you're upset about this, or Bayern's DQ , or so and so's trip for longer than a day - you're a losing gambler and the blame should be on you for continuing to wager. And some of these "journalists" work the public into a frenzy because it gets attention, but they're ALL losing players, and their opinions should be taken with that in mind.

I'm here for the long haul. And that means betting less often, with more confidence.

    Thanks for everything boys.
