Now that we are just a few hours away from the PP draw I was thinking how few defections there were this year . Seems like in past years the time from when the last prep race finishes and the PP draw occurs you have several horses that drop out for one reason or another , but this year there has only been two. Madefromlucky and One Lucky Dane. Isn't it ironic that it was the two "lucky" horses who dropped out of the running lol.
Really though when you think about it there have been few horses drop off the derby trail in general even if you go back to before the prep races started . Sure horses didn't earn enough to qualify but the only big name legit contender I can think of off the top of my head that dropped out due to injury was Texas Red.
