Tries to wire the field? I think he has to show early speed in order not to get caught too far behind...with post 2 dortmund will probably go to the lead if AP doesnt...ANY thoughts?

Diving Rod reminds me alot of Bernadini in this position who I liked alot but never know if he would have beat Barbaro in the preakness.

Poor ole Bob must be shitting bricks about now! Drawing holes 1 & 2 with Pharoah & dortman.

This really turns the Preakness into a Jockey's race!

That said, Pharoah is still the horse to beat. His push-button speed can put him anywhere he needs to be. I just hope victor doesn't screw this up!

BTW, welcome turfergirl--Like your style already!

Welcome to the forum. One of two ladies I used to sit with at the OTB before she passed from cancer was a mathamatics professor and was an amazing handicapper. She always brought some great stats with her. miss her dearly.

I need to change that avatar.. Really sad situation.

Morse (Tapit/Friend's Included by Include) was the last horse I owned in partnership with Dogwood Stable. Showed alot of promise as a two year old and was sent to todd. At some point around June he started falling down at the end of his works. Shipped from NY to Lex and a visit with Larry at Rood & Riddle. surgery to correct a neuro problem and stall rest caused more problems. Gelded and came back not the same, so he went to Gary contessa who did a good job with a damaged horse. He was claimed for $40k and I damned near kissed Contessa on the lips for getting $40k for him. Thereafter, he was trained by a NY guy ,Cannizzo, who shortly after the claim got in some hot water and may have been suspended, but don't quote me on that. It's been several months since I heard anything about him, but last week he poped up on my virtual stable where he had worked at Finger Lakes, going 5f in 1:05 or some dismal number. His future doesn't look good as a racehorse and I hope his connections do right by him.

Just for the record---ALL TAPIT HORSES ARE NOT GRADED WINNERS!

I think Firing Line came out of the post-draw looking pretty good.

    American Pharaoh, not so much.

You have to wonder though, will Baffert give Garcia (aboard Dortmund) any instructions to lay off AP early?
