“It is not how fast the horse runs that is important. It is how the horse runs fast.” Betting the highest speed figure will ultimately give you a flat bet loss. Often times the top speed figure horse is not suited for the pace match up of the race. This is where pace handicapping and Fractional Charting can help.

Candid Desire may have bounced when 9th in his first start as a winner vs. similar dirt sprinters April 19. He earned a big number in his win vs. NY-bred straight Maidens March 28 and he is related to a turf sprint winner. Castellano takes the call and maybe 'Desire can rebound as the HF 15a. Chasintheblues needs to draw in, but he was 3rd off the bench in a like event May 2. He plots well off that one, he has good early speed and he has a right to be tighter with recency. We'll give him a long look if a starter. Birchwood Road was 3rd vs. open NW1 Optional Claiming turf routers off the bench at Gulfstream April 25. He was 3rd in his lone turf sprint, he worked fast May 8 and he should enjoy the drop in with NY-breds. Also-eligible Secured Position was 2nd in start #2 in a $60k dirt sprint Stakes at Monmouth Aug 3. Off since, he is a full to a turf sprint winner and he has likely matured since raced. Tab the tote for clues as to his readiness if he draws in. CLOSERS: Fastest in the stretch in recent races at or near this distance have been: Spider Roll :35.3 - Masons Dream :35.7 - Broadway Bay :35.8 Try the Entire Fractional Charting for May 25 at Belmont Park for FREE
