Still lickin' my wounds from yesterday when 2yo firster Shoot Craps jumped at the start and lost all chance. Really too bad because at the wire he took over and came flying by all as he easily won the gallop out. Tough loss!

#5 CJ'S AWESOME, 5/2, has been good to me a few times but not lately. Owned by Hot Springs native Carl Gessler, Jr., he has run against some good ones and not looked horrible, but he just seems to not want to win, so at this level I'm going to key him in 2nd & 3rd in exotic play.
#7 HAZARDS OF LOVE, 2-1, is now 8 years old but doesn't seem to have lost much. Tom Amoss keeps him at CD as opposed to going up to Prairie Meadows for owner Maggie Moss. Win contender.
#4 IRISH YOU WELL, 4-1, seems to be on the upswing and may run a career best today? Class of the field and may wake up against these types. Win contender.
#1 TARPY'S SURPRISE, 5-1, 2nd start after a short layoff, and Romans/Lanerie connections must be respected. Exotic contender.
