PERDONA is suppose to run well today off a horrible debut, this comes from the connex that I have a connection with. I didn't use her on my sheet out of respect to the connex. I never list a horse on my sheet per respect to my connections unless they want me too. FWIW! We might have the exacta box in this one.
Dreaming of Anna (Rahy), makes her career bow in this spot for Hall of
Famer Richard Mandella. A full-sister to MGSW Lewis Michael and a
half to MGSW & GISP Justenuffhumor (Distorted Humor), Dreaming of
Anna is also the dam of SW & GISP Fast Anna (Medaglia d’Oro).
Dreamologist also traces her lineage back to champion and top sire
Kitten’s Joy (El Prado {Ire}), MGISW millionaire Precious Kitten
(Catienus) and GSW & GISP sophomore Divining Rod (Tapit)
Edit: Just realized that the workout reports on Perdona pre-date the debut. Most recent one showing is May 17. Rather odd, considering she's worked twice @ Santa Anita since last raced.
Btw, just watched the replay of her debut run, and didn't think she looked too bad. Had some trouble. Definitely eligible for improvement.
Okay, another update here, just noticed something else. One of those pre-debut drills is mis-labeled as May 13, when actually it came on June 13. So there actually is a report on a drill since last raced, and it's a positive one. Hope that clears things up a little.
Btw, Harrington implies that while Dreamologist has obvious talent, she's not the best at breaking from the gate. Not good, considering her rail draw.
Agree with all, and Perdona really had a tough trip last out. Also, Super Majesty who won Perdona's debut race was 1/2 and is a really nice sort (and interestingly enough, owned by the same group as Dreamologist.)
you just had to rain on my parade didnt you..just saw the brad free tweet..thanks for the info..
its interesting that there were no gate works after debut. I think eurton is really underrated and I think this guy will show a ton of speed today..3-1 at best??
Forgot about this tidbit... Dreamologist was not scratched because he drew inside. He was taken to the gate yesterday for a quick pop and stop, and he banged himself up pretty good. Connex think he is VERY nice and didn't want to chance it.
Here's the official take from DRF:
The highly regarded 3-year-old filly Dreamologist, scratched from her scheduled debut Saturday at Santa Anita, will aim for a maiden race July 16, opening day of the Del Mar meet.
Trainer Richard Mandella said Sunday that Dreamologist scratched because of a minor incident early in the week. I popped her out of the gate (June 17) and she hit herself, Mandella said. He indicated the incident was minor.
Dreamologist was sired by Tapit and produced by Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Dreaming of Anna. She is a sibling to Grade 1-placed sprinter Fast Anna.
The setback was the second time Dreamologists debut was postponed. She was almost ready to run last summer at Del Mar, but bucked shins in her final major workout.
Goes today---finally!
Race 9
#6 Dreamologist, 7/2
The Eclipse Group really likes #7 Illuminant, 5-1, trained by old TAP asst Whitey McCarthy, and I'm not leaving out Joe "The Anchor" on #11, Gloryzapper, 9/2., who sold for peanuts for a Ghostzapper horse so he must have looked like shit at the sale? Just the kind that the Anchor will surprise on!
Came back to work well again, Sambito sticks. I'll give another look.
I was covered a couple of times in the P4 with Perdona, the fav 10, and I threw in "the Anchor" on the #2 for Eoin Harty. I got pretty excited when Perdona turned for home---but NO!!!! she hung---but to my amazement---"The Anchor" comes thru and triggers a $804.50 payout!
Too fuckin funny!
I didn't cash many tickets today---but the ones I did sure paid well! Spa payoffs were HUGE!
Absolute fucking crush time. A 10 length beat down.
Yeah, it's this year's Om/American Pharoah race....
HRT caught both early...
