ANALYSIS: Roy H finished 2nd debuting in a key race April 30. That heat produced four next-out winners, including Roy H, who dominated straight Maidens down the hill May 31. He’s capable of strong early speed, tops the charting and will take down HF 15a honors to repeat. Rule He Will is trying turf for the first time, but he’s shown strong speed on dirt and exits a nice win over Cal-bred Allowance foes May 24. He’s by a good turf sire and could give the top choice a test. Lamontagne is a 3-year-old filly facing boys that ships in from New York for Wesley Ward. She’s won her last two turf sprints and easily beat $40,000 non-winners of two claimers at Belmont May 24. Class is a cloud, but she’s getting a significant weight break (12-to-16 pounds in most cases) and is from a barn that is always dangerous in turf dashes. Formally Wild faded with this kind in her second start May 17, but he wired straight Maidens in his debut and speed on the rail can be dangerous at this short trip. We’ll make him the HF 20. CLOSERS: Fastest in the stretch in recent races at or near this distance have been: Incline Village :10.5 – Labour :11.1 – Tosheen :11.4

Let’s look at Roy H. He tops the charting in less than par time for the level in 56.4. However, he charts as setting the pace in much faster than par time for the level in 21.1 which suggests even if he does not go as fast early he could have plenty left for the stretch.
