ANALYSIS: Stone Supplier is a half to one winner and a full to two winners. Her barn does very well with Maiden-Claiming rookies, Cancel is aboard and she shows four straight five furlong works. Maybe ‘Supplier can come out running as the HF 15a. Lady Daphne finished 9th as a comebacking second-timer vs. NY-bred straight Maiden turf sprinters July 8. She was 5th on dirt in her debut over this track last year and Castellano strings along for a hot barn. Better seems possible. Honeychild went to the sidelines after her clunker vs. NY-bred straight Maidens Nov 28. She is in an unknown barn, but she drops in with NY-bred Maiden-Claimers for the first time and she tops the charting off her sprint over this track Sept 1. Watch the betting. Take A Bow pressed the pace and tired to 5th in her debut at this level July 19. She could show more stick now that she has experience and Cruz is back to ride. Bay’s Nanny is a half to six winners and a full to three winners including a debut winner. CLOSERS: Fastest in the stretch in recent races at or near this distance have been: Honeychild :26.8 – Lady Daphne :28.0

In straight Maiden or Maiden-Claiming races, when the horse who tops the charting is five or more lengths slower than par or average for the level it might pay to look at a first time starter if any. The slow par time suggests this is a soft group for the level and maybe a rookie can win first time out. Check the race analysis for more info about the first time starters along with trainer and sire stats in the Data Lines.
