ANALYSIS: Highball beat this kind at Churchill June 25 before being overmatched in a Grade III at Arlington Aug 15. He’s the only horse to have run on this turf course, and he beat bottom-level Allowance foes here last year. He’s our HF 15a. Hammers Terror beat this kind May 31 at Churchill and was later Dq’d from the purse money (likely drug violation). He’s worked nine times since raced and merits plenty of respect once again. Abtaal beat $50,000 claimers Aug 5 when claimed by Sharp (from McLaughlin) at Saratoga Aug 5. He was facing high-line Allowance foes before that and might fit well with this kind. Our longshot is M C Squared. He easily beat bottom-level Allowance foes at Laurel July 19 and repeated against $16,000 Starter foes there Aug 9. He tops the charting and could be a factor at a price with these. CLOSERS: Fastest in the stretch in recent races at or near this distance have been: M C Squared :23.4 – Abtaal :23.6 – Candy Gran :23.7 -Highball :23.9

A faster than par pace is expected and it could set up well for the closers. Three of the top four in the charting own three of the fastest four last fractions. Look for some value on the tote from M C Squared, Abtaal and Highball.
