South American Horse of the Year spent the past four months at Oaklawn getting in shape. When the connex thought he was ready, he was thrown to the wolves in the Razorback Hdc. on the Rebel undercard where he ran into a well rested Upstart who ran one of his better races and was not going to be denied going 1 1/16 that day. Upstart came back and threw in a clunker in the Oaklawn Hdc. but he is one who gets sore and needs a lot of time between starts. Idolo Porteno didn't take part in the Oaklawn Hdc., as the connex had today's race back on the weeds zeroed in.
Don't pay any attention to the jockey switch, as Florent Geroux goes with the Maker entry and that is where he will get those Ramsey/Kitten future stars. I like the move Idolo in getting Paco Lopez and Paco should have him forwardly placed and in a good position free of trouble turning for home when these attempt to get the demanding 1 1/2 distance. This horse is bred to run all day and he is super fit now and his 2nd back off the lay-off and back on the weeds should be the ticket to a big effort at a decent price!
