The Pletcher filly who won the Schuylerville yesterday (Sweet Loretta, now 2-for-2) went into that race off a heads-up drill with an unraced 2yo colt named Excitations. So let's be on the lookout for that one.

Strangely though, that was Excitation's first drill at Saratoga, coming in off a string of at least 5 consecutive Churchill drills. Pletcher doesn't even keep a string @ Churchill, does he? Wonder where he got this one. Transfer or private purchase, maybe? Incidentally, none of the Churchill (nor the Saratoga drill) drills were very fast. Hopefuly that'll help the price, but of course, you know how it goes with the Pletcher 2yo's.

Fwiw, the Kenneally 2yo in Race 2 today (going 1 1/16 on turf) appears to have outworked Bitumen (8/5 ml in the Sanford Stakes today) in their lone local drill last week. Castellano rides both.

Just watched the replay of of his debut race, which looked okay but nothing real special. You could say the race is a complete toss-out though, due to the sloppy track.

Could win this thing. No reason why he should be 8/1 ml.

Bronson in the Sanford worked heads up with Sweet Loretta on July 16th, he was down on the inside and was hard held as well. They finished up even as Bronson was let loose at all. FWIW
