We received many request for us to do the full card from The Fairgrounds today on LeComte Stakes day and we obliged and have derived a full card report for races 1-10 at The Fairgrounds today. This is our home track and we REALLY like this card today. We're only backing 1 favorite today and we have several live LONG SHOTS ready to FIRE down the lane today. 8th Race - Fair Grounds - Saturday, January 13th, 2018
STAKES. 1 1/16 Miles Turf. Purse $125,000.
We have another solid field of 10 lined up over the turf course once again. Im
looking to back #9 Special Ops from the Mike Maker barn. This one has been
wintering down south at Gulfstream Park and he came off a 2 month freshening
to win a restricted stakes race and note The Strangler was in the saddle that day
and hes back in today as well. As many of you know, you can train a horse for
fitness and surface but some like to win down the lane and others like to spit
the bit. This 7 yo gelding likes a battle and is in it to WIN!! All we need is a clean
break and just PRAY The Strangler lets him run. Special Ops is a loose rein
runner and when you compromise a runner like him, it leaves nothing in the
tank down the lane. You cannot compromise a horses breathing pattern and
fight them throughout the early stages of a race, this will cause their lactic acid
to work against them and have no run when asked.
