hey dog, please ask questions anytime, lots of people ask me that question on other sites. Generally, what I will do is play off my longshots. However, the ultimate determing factors will be the odds at post time.

For example, in the first race tonight I like the #4 horse Rimshot G. He is 20-1 ML. I will definately use him if I get around 20-1 or higher. However, if he goes off at 10-1, he becomes a no play because he's overbet and overlaid. I'll skip the race or just box my top three in a tribox if at least one horse in my top three is at a good price. So no, I don't play all my longshots, odds determine if I do. Ironically, I actually have more confidence in my longshots when there 40/50/60 to 1.

As far as the way I structure my bets, I play triples primarily, sometimes exactas. If I'm up for the night, might dabble in a superfecta, paid off last night, superfecta paid roughly $1,000.

Ideally, using the first race as an example, I would just box my first 3 selections and include my LS in a trifecta for $1. Cost $20. However, if you follow my picks long enough seem to suffer from the 2 out of 3 syndrome. So if I really really like my longshot, I will key instead of box and use more horses, even some I may not like.

For example, say the #4 Rimshot G tonight is 35-1 at post time, I will key him for 2nd and 3rd, not 1st I structure my bets this way because most of my longshots will finish 3rd, sometimes 2nd, at huge prices, they just don't win often enough for me to show a profit. To cover myself if the odds are high, I'll place a $2 win bet on my longshot to at least get my money back from my trifecta or at least make a small profit. Generally, I'm not rooting for my longshots to win lol. But they do from time to time, so I have to play the $2 bucks.

Basically, I play reverse trifecta keys and trifecta boxes including my longshot but only if I get about ML or higher. I rarely will box 3 favorites, I shoot big, dont care if I hit $30 triples.

Sorry for the oversimplification, if I confused you further, let me know, write back as you can see by the length of my response, always willing to chat, good luck tonight, hopefully we can get some of these longshots in the money, that's my goal, not picking them to win. good luck- cl
