Fast Becerra trainee nearly scored a front-running win over this course on Derby Day, only passed late by our pick Incurable Lou, who of course was coming off a fantastic effort vs. the up-and-coming stakes type Secret Shuttle. In fact, prior to that last race, Rudeameanie had held the lead after 6 furlongs (today's distance) in each of his last 5 races. He should definitely be fitter this time around, as his last race came off a 5-month layoff, and he doesn't figure to face a ton of early pace pressure here. Looks primed for a strong front-running effort.
