Welcome back to Southerncalracing.com it is July 27th and today's feature at Del Mar is the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Handicap to be run at 6 furlongs over the polytrack. The big news on both coasts though are the Pick 6 carryovers at both Del Mar ($1.5 million) and Saratoga ($120K plus).
Yesterday's results :
In Race 4, Concettina went off as the 5/2 favorite went to the lead and tired. The main track played toward closers yesterday and we thought we had the best closer in the race, but she was sent to the lead and that was the end of that.
In Race 6, Black Astor was sent off at 9/2 and took the field gate to wire as predicted here at Southerncalracing.com. Jockey Joe Talamo sent him to the lead and was able to slow it down running 3/4 in 1:12 in change and was able clear off as they turned for home and win by 3/4 of a length and pay $11.80.
Today's Selections :
Race 5 - #12 Gold Trim (8-1) Has been freshened up after being claimed by John Saddler he is a solid closer and looks to be spotted perfectly by Saddler. He has two wins coming off longer layoffs and will be coming late under hard trying jockey Martin Pedroza.
Race 9 - #9 Twodollarstowin (10-1) She is coming off a long layoff and catches a terrible field in today's nightcap. She has always been well supported at the windows and is reportedly working well and should be fit off a long series of consistent works for trainer Bob Hess Jr.
From gate to wire Southerncalracing.com is your best bet!
