#9 Sheriff's Choice (3/1 ml)
Delaware shipper comes in off an excellent second-place finish going five furlongs, where he missed by a half-length but was 11 lengths clear of the rest of the field. Particularly noteworthy is the fact they got their last furlong in 11.4 while opening up 9 lengths. They were really moving. Trainer Larry Jones adds Lasix for this maiden's second career start, an angle he's 7-for-17 with (41%). Main concern here is the far outside post.
HRT record:
11 for 38 (29%)
$104.20 mutuels ($9.47 avg)

#7 The Roundhouse (7/2 ml)
Half-brother to Circular Quay ran a big race when dropped into the toughest 2yo race of the season for his second career start, missing second by a nose to the excellent Tale of Ekati despite a wide, well-behind trip. Jockey Garrett Gomez almost certainly had his choice between this horse and Asmussen's multiple stakes-winner Kodiak Kowboy (5/2 ml). Lots of pace to set up his late run, and an aditional furlong to work with this time.
#4 Forever Irish (10/1 ml)
First-timer showeg big speed from the gate with older sprinter Bashert in his most recent drill. Looks like word is out too; he's currently the 5/2 second-choice with 25 mtp. Should drift up though...
Already pounded down to 5/2. I will still follow for less units.
