Race 1- 5 Reaffirmed
Walder entry, Velazquez is the go-to guy here. COmbo is 37% winners at Gulfstream. Drops down in class, has beaten better. 6 of 15 at this distance, ITM 2 of 3 times here at Gulfstream. 10 of 42 lifetime. Horse is 2nd off a layoff. Walder is 45% with horses 2nd off a layoff. Def. One to consider.
Race 2- 7 Propensity
Horse is stretching out, running the farthest it is yet to. Leparoux jumps on. Coming in 1st off a layoff, off 2 good races. Outclasses field. Great easy works recently. What really caught my eye was the drives the horse was putting in when racing 1 1/8 Miles. Still in the drive at the wire. The extra bit may big the extra time to get out front. Horse has a good shot here.
Race 3- 9 B.B. Jazz
12-1 M/L here is good value. 1st start for the Attard barn, who is 14% with first time with the horse. Kent D jumps on in this situation which is a plus. Horse is stretching out a bit further. Kent D sees somehing here, thus the ride. Has been racing for more, and any improvement to the 71 beyer last out will def. put this gelding in the mix.
Race 4- 8 Charge It
Has a ton of class over the field. Lost by 17 in 1st career start, to Great Debater, who just finished 4th last out at Aqueduct in the Jimmy Winkfield Stakes. The classy colt makes its 2nd career start, for Benzel who is 26% with 2nd career starters. Expect an improvement. Horse was bought in September 07 at the Keeneland Auction for $115,000. 10-1 M/L? Def Value!
Race 5- 10 B L's Noise
Walder calls for Velazquez again. Horse has been ITM 3 of 5 starts at this distance. Walder is 29% in horses first start with him. Horse has some class. Will be at the pace, if not setting it. Hopefully Velazquz can hold on to it out front.
Race 6- 5 Pinckney Hill
1st Career start for Penna. Velazquez is up for the ride. The combo has won 2 of 6 they have been together here at Gulfstream. Sire was A.P indy (Seattle Slew), who stands for $300,000. Half Brother English Colony took 5 of 8, all on turf. Horse has a bright future, hopefully starting today. 10-1 M/L on this very classy colt.
Race 7- 4 Chasing The Prize
Won at this class 2 ago, at this same distance. Setting a 95 beyer. Besides horses 1st career start, hasnt set a beyer at 6F less then 84. That was a 6 1/4 length victory, and could've been more. Comes in off some really good works. If Prado can get a stalk trip here, watch out!
Race 8- 5 Miss Mecke Mouse
Bridgmohan jumps on here. Horse is 2 for 2 on GP Turf, 3 for 3 at this distance, and Bridgmohan is 1 for 1 with this horse. 86 Beyer last out is much faster than this field. Since the claim from Levine, horse is 1-1-1 in 4 starts. May look like a bump up in class, but has faced tougher. Will compete!
Race 9- 2 Fiji Boy
Leparoux is on for Kenneally, not worse than 5th in 4 starts. But has showed improvement. Was 2nd in only start at this class. Also 2nd in only star with Leparoux. Horse has late speed and will be there late.
Good Luck
