#3 Dagger (5/2 ml)
Been waiting on this filly for a while. She ran a good second to the highly-regarded Reata's Quik Punch in her well-bet debut, finishing up 10 lengths clear of the others in fast time. Going back to the March OBS, she had worked a quarter in 21.0 at the second under-tack show. Likely has a bit more speed than shown.
HRT record:
11 for 43 (26%)
$104.20 mutuels ($9.47 avg)

#2 Panty Raid (4/1 ml)
Top-rung Pletcher trainee comes in off an impressive win the the American Oaks at this same 1 1/4-mile distance, holding the hard-charging Valbenny at bay thru a final quarter in a blazing 23.4 seconds. That kind of late kick should serve her very well in this spot, with the distance to her liking and lots of speed lined up in front of her. She also comes into this race off a heads-up dril with Lawyer Ron (actually she went .01 seconds faster than he did). Should run very well here.
#4 Thru n' Thru (9/2 ml)
Baffert comebacker showed a world of speed in her debut, going clear by over a length from the very quick Coco Belle after a half-mile. That's not easy to do. She kept right on going for the win, also defeating the eventual stakes winner Super Freaky. Obviously has been dealing with some physical problems over the last year or so, but comes into this race having out-worked the stakes-winning filly Tough Tiz's Sis from the gate on Aug 5. Tough Tiz's Sis is entered in today's Alabama Stakes, btw. Prior to that she out-worked the good colt Air Commander. Looks healthy, and gets a 5-furlong turf sprint that should be right up her alley. Figures tough to catch.
#9 Six Again (8/5 ml)
Hard to back an 0-for-12 maiden, but this one comes in off a very competitive effort (on polytrack) in a race that has already produced 3 return winners (Flip the Penny, Owen Roe O'Neill, and Warren's Ruler). Hard not to like.
#8 Banner Lodge (15/1 ml)
Sadler first-timer comes in with a strong series of drills over the polytrack, and looks to have a good bit of talent. Interesting that Sadler would enter him against his stablemate Their He Goes, who looks very tough in here. Btw, Rosario was aboard Their He Goes for his most recent drill (a very sharp one), and winds up on Banner Lodge here. Expecting a good run.
Thru n' Thru wins @ $12.20
Banner Lodge went off @ 11/1 and ran third.
