Saratoga - Race 2

#5 Syriana's Song (8/5 ml)

Didn't thik i'd be able to bet this one, but somehow she's 4/1 with about 20 mtp. Filly ran a great race in her debut, battling on a fast pace of 21.75, 45.24. In the following race, the older stakes horse Gold and Roses went in 22.18, 45.28. That's good enough for me. It's not like she spit the bit, either. She put away her pace foes in the lane, only to be beaten by an excellent Biancone filly named Irish Smoke. That one is heading for a stakes race next time out. Syriana's Song was over 4 lengths clear of the others when she hit the wire.

    #7 Top Gone (4/1 ml)

    I had a nice-sized bet on this horse in his debut, and he ran very well despite some early trouble. Should improve second time out, and will likely appreciate the stretchout as well.

    #6 Sunset Tijuana (12/1 ml)

    O'Neill firster has been training well for her debut, and in fact had today's jockey Michael Baze abaord for the Aug 12 gate drill. Doesn't look like there's whole lot to beat in here, especially with the 5/2 ml favorite Queen of the I.E. having looked sub-par in a recent drill.
