(G1), will move from the Keeneland quarantine barn into the barn of trainer Kiaran McLaughlin on Thursday morning.
"I don't know what their plans are for him, but the decision was made today that Neal McLaughlin will come by in the morning and take him to their barn," said Les Reynolds, head traveling lad for trainer John Gosden. Neal McLaughlin is an assistant to his brother, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin.
Prior to running in the Blue Grass, Mafaaz won the Kentucky Derby Challenge at Kempton Park on March 18 in England to earn a berth in the starting gate for the May 2 Kentucky Derby (G1) at Churchill Downs.
"I don't know yet what Sheikh Hamdan wants to do, but for now we are going to put him in our training program," Neal McLaughlin said.
As for going on to Churchill Downs, McLaughlin said, "We can look at that, and if they want, we can do that, or if they want to do something else he can go to New York."
