Monday morning at Churchill Downs was a busy day for horses getting in their final preparations for Saturday’s Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).

The following 3-year-olds worked after the 8:30 a.m. renovation break. The works were disrupted by a collision of two horses in front of the grandstand after one of the horses got loose. Neither of the horses involved were Derby contenders.

Details of the works, with analysis by their connections will be coming shortly:

Friesan Fire – five furlongs in :57 4/5

Chocolate Candy – five furlongs in :59 1/5

Pioneerof the Nile – five furlongs in 1:01

Win Willy – five furlongs in 1:02 2/5

Flying Private – four furlongs in :47 2/5

Hey FB, i heard Mike Welsch speculating after FF's last drill that the next one might be a fast 5 furlongs, beacuse apparently this is the same training pattern that Jones used with Hard Spun a couple of years ago. Looks like he hit the nail on the head.
