Saratoga - Race 3

#6 Fidelio (7/2 ml)

New acquisition for Frankel appears much better than his 69 Beyer. He ran the opening quarter of his Woodbine debut in 22.4, which matches the opening quarter of a 3yo-and-up stakes race later on the card. He definitely got a breather with his second quarter in 24.0, but he finished up very strongly through the stretch, his next furlong in 12.0 and then out in 6.1 for the final sixteenth. Looks like he may have been purchased privately after that race. Frankel adds lasix for this colt's second start, and he comes into this race off a heads-up best-of-48 bullet with the excellent 3yo colt Tight Grip. That's good enough for me. Should sit a good trip here from the outside, and figures overlooked due to the low Beyer figure.

HRT record:

19 for 61 (31%)

$184.20 mutuels ($9.69)

Fidelio went off @ 3/1 and ran second.

Technically a loser, but still a nice play as Fidelio broke even on the w/p bet, and combined with obvious favorite War Pass for a nice $17.20 exacta.

Thanks DC, watched the replay of the War Pass race and was very impressed. Used your pick in an exacta box, a very nice $17.20 indeed.

    Saratoga - Race 7

    #7 Let's Fly Away (5/2 ml)

State-bred maiden endured a very rough trip last time, being pinched bcak at the break and then moving quickly up the bcakstretch into an opening half-mile that compared well to the other sprint races on the card (Jim Dandy Day). That oughta do it in what looks like a terrible field here.

Looked like he couldnt lose at the top of the lane. Hand ride and no one running behind him. Yuck.

    Del Mar - Race 3

#2 Slam My Heart (8/1 ml)

Expensive claim is showing sharp recent form, aside from an ill-fated try on a yielding course when he was acting up prior to the start. Comes in off a very sharp polytrack drill and looks like a big threat here at his curent odds of 8/1 (roughly 15 mtp).

Was a nice call DC, El Grego just had things too easy on the front end to run down. A nice $7.40 to place.

Nice job. Looked like the best horse without any pace to run at. Thanks for posting. Expect anything else today?

    Del Mar - Race 5

    #5 Flower Fusion (4/1 ml)

Showed good speed over the polytrack last time, and was just a length off a 112.3 after six furlongs, a very good time for this course. Appears to have moved forward in his training since that last race, should be more fit this time and cuts back to 6 furlongs. Should be pretty tough on the lead.

    Del Mar - Race 6

    #1 Stage Sensation (9/2 ml)

Been training well over the poly, and should be competitive here at a square price.

I think the 6th race is between the 1,5,9, but just to let you know. Dollace really, really likes his horse. He's been talking about her for a while. His barn has been on fire as well, and notice M Baze jumps on one of his 1sters, good sign of what he thinks of her. M Baze and Dollace 4/4 this meet, and 48% this year. An advantage that Stage Sensation has on other 2 is she is a Feb foal, maturity advantage over a Apr foal.
