Race 7
#7 Alexander Tango (8/1 ml)
This filly ran big in the Irish 1000 Guineas over good-to-firm ground vs. Finsceal Beo (who was in fantastic form at the time) and Peeping Fawn, who has been tearing up the Euro fillies all summer and looms a clear-cut choice in the Breeders Cup F&M Turf if she comes over. Most recently, Alexander Tango ran very well vs. colts at 1 1/4 miles over a very deep, tiring surface. The winner of that race (Eagle Mountain) had run previously run second to the surerstar colt Authorized in the English Derby, btw. Clearly this filly has a lot of talent, and she should be dead-fit for this one. Looms a big threat at a square price.
Race 9
#7 Yellowstone (4/1 ml)
Aiden O'Brien shipper ran within a length of Authorized and George Washington in the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse over a deep surface. Impossible not to like him off that effort. Btw, Authorized came out of that race to blow away the field in the Group 1 Juddmonte International. Meanwhile, Yellowstone ran first and second in a couple of 1 1/2-mile stakes @ Goodwood and York, so stamina doesn't appear to be an issue in this marathon event. Also noteworthy that Johhny Murtagh (aboard for Yellowstone's last two races) is apparently opting off Doctor Dino, whom he rode toa close finish in the Arlington Million. That may have more to do with O'Brien than Yellowstone, but it's still very noteworthy. Incidentally, Doctor Dino is known to favor firm ground, and was probably not at his best in the Milion over squishy going. Should improve here.
HRT record:
27 for 95 (28%)
$250.50 mutuels ($9.28 avg)
